Kenneyville: Day 2

Here are some behind-the-scenes movie stills from Day 2 on set of Kenneyville! On Friday we filmed in a creepy barn in Cobourg, Ontario. It was a really cool set, and Sean Samson was there as a Makeup FX Consultant. He just finished working on Saw VII, and built a drill so we could drill into Vanessa’s head.

This is Michael Scratch as the film’s villain, Adrian Black. Really nice and talented guy – I didn’t get to meet him during phase 1 of shooting.

The effect looked really cool, from what I saw on the monitor. Can’t wait to see it in the final film!

This Friday we’re filming a huge fight scene with multiple bloody deaths. I’m very excited.

Kenneyville: Day 1

I’m back on the set of Babe with a Sword, only now it’s called Kenneyville. We’re spending 4 days this month filming new scenes. The film originally wrapped last September, and you can see some behind the scenes shots from phase 1 of shooting here.

Yesterday, we filmed at a motel in Shelburne, ON (about 90 minutes North of Toronto). It was great to see everyone again!

This time I’d like to get some shots of Vanessa Broze not being tied up and/or duct taped on the back of a truck.

Vanessa tied up with Brooks Hunter, Director of Photography Pasha Patriki, and Dany Gehshan (as Charlie/Patrick).

This is one of the most fun sets (okay, the most fun set) I’ve ever worked on. Everyone is really nice and infectiously energetic. Also, I love working on films that actually encourage posting pictures online – most productions don’t allow it. Speaking of which, you can see lots more pictures on the Kenneyville Facebook page.

On Friday we’re filming in Cobourg. The key prosthetic makeup artist from Resident Evil: Afterlife has created some crazy special effect props. There will be blood. There will also be pictures.

Babe With A Sword: Day 3

Hello! I’m writing from Quebec, where I’m working as the stills photographer on the feature film Babe With A Sword. Right now it’s Day 3 and the cast is siting around a fire watching old vampire movies while the crew is setting up.

We’re having tons of fun so far, with lots of excitement from raccoons and bears to thwarting robberies to throwing cast members into the lake.

I’ve been very busy recently on a number of things, from meeting awesome models and makeup artists to taking a class on portrait photography to getting ready to work on a feature film.

I’ve also been putting more time into building my iStockPhoto portfolio. Here are some of my recently accepted images. These are all travel photos taken during my recent trip to Wales.

To date, I have 61 files in my portfolio. My goal is to have 150 pictures in my portfolio by the end of 2009. With 16 weeks left in the year, that means I have to have about 6 files accepted per week.

I will be out of town doing stills photography on the movie Babe With A Sword for the next 12 days. We are filming a horror movie, at night, in the woods, with no cell phone service or internet. This is a recipe for me becoming scared of my own shadow for the next 2 weeks. Very exciting! If I disappear, please assume it was a crazed forest-dweller wearing a scary mask and send help.
